Two controls, same corner#

Your language and theme are personal preferences — they don't affect anyone else and don't change any of your data. Both controls live in the top-right corner, as two small icons next to each other:

• Globe icon — language switcher.
• Sun or moon icon — theme toggle.

Both are available in two places:

• On the Sign In screen — before you've logged in. Useful if the interface opens in a language or theme you don't want.
• In the app header — visible on every page after you sign in.

Changing the language#

VAT Portal is available in three languages, shown under their native names so you can recognize your own even if the interface is currently in a language you don't read:

• Azərbaycan (Azerbaijani)
• English
• Русский (Russian)

To change:

1. Click the globe icon in the top-right corner.
2. Click the language you want.
3. The interface switches immediately — no page reload.

The currently active language is highlighted in the dropdown.

What gets translated (and what doesn't)#

When you switch language, the interface labels — menus, buttons, page titles, field prompts — change immediately.

Custom fields set up by your company's admin (field names, dropdown options, and similar) are only translated if the admin has added translations for them. If a translation for your language is missing, the original name appears as the admin entered it.

Your own data — the content you've entered into documents, discussion messages, task comments — is never automatically translated. It stays in whichever language it was written.

Switching between light and dark theme#

VAT Portal has two visual themes:

• Light — white backgrounds, dark text. The default.
• Dark — dark backgrounds, light text. Easier on the eyes in low-light environments.

The theme icon tells you the current state at a glance:

• ☀️ Sun — you're in light theme. Click to switch to dark.
• 🌙 Moon — you're in dark theme. Click to switch back to light.

One click flips the whole interface. No dropdown, no confirmation — just the toggle.

Your choices are remembered#

Both your language and your theme are saved in the browser you're using. The next time you open VAT Portal in the same browser, it opens in the language and theme you last picked.

Because the settings are stored per-browser:

• Each device (your laptop, your office desktop) has its own preference — they don't sync automatically.
• Your colleagues are never affected by your choices.
• On the very first visit, VAT Portal tries to match your browser's language. If your browser is set to one of the three supported languages, you'll land on that one. Otherwise, English is used until you change it. The theme always starts as light on a first visit.
